Frequently Asked Questions
Custom content
7 questions
Yes, but be careful, as it may remove the item from multiple areas of the website.
Not always, but some fields may be required for the content to display correctly on the website.
If a field is marked as required, or if you're unsure whether it can be left blank, we recommend completing it before publishing.
Don't worry — most day-to-day changes are completely safe and can easily be corrected. If you're ever unsure, save your work as a Draft or get in touch with Candid Creative before publishing. We're always happy to help.
A custom content item is a type of content created specifically for your website. Examples might include team members, services, projects, portfolio items, testimonials or tours.
Unlike standard pages and posts, custom content items are designed to store specific information in a structured way.
Information entered into custom fields may appear in multiple places across your website. This will have been pre-determined by Candid during the build process.
For example, updating a team member's job title could automatically update their profile page, directory listing and contact information elsewhere on the site.
The names of custom content sections vary between websites. Depending on how your website has been built, they may be called Projects, Team Members, Services, Portfolio, Testimonials, Tours or something else entirely. If you can't find the section you're looking for, contact your website administrator for assistance.
Custom content items are often built using custom fields rather than standard content blocks.
This helps ensure information is displayed consistently across the website and makes it easier to manage content such as contact details, opening hours, pricing or team information.

For the best results use clear, well-lit photographs; keep images square where possible; upload the highest quality version you have. WooCommerce will automatically create the different image sizes needed throughout the website.
There are several reasons why a product may not appear: It hasn't been published yet. It's set to Draft or Private. It's marked Out of stock (depending on your website settings). It hasn't been assigned to the correct Product Category or Brand. If everything looks correct, try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache.
